Hello! We are Julius and John!
We are so grateful that you have chosen to learn more about us. This page is only the beginning of our story together. We hope that it will provide a glimpse of the parents we would be and the family that we have become. We have a home filled with love and we want to share it. Thank you for taking a chance on us. We know that this is a lot to consider. We would love to meet you and hope that your child finds their way to our home.
About
Our story began with friendship, two people wanting to make the world a better place.
As we began to get know each other, we became a team, and realized that we are stronger together than apart. That friendship then became something more and it changed our lives. We believe that being a part of a family means showing up for people that we love. We plan to be the type of parents that encourage our child to follow their dreams and we plan to show up for every school activity. We look forward to reading with our child, helping with homework, and giving hugs and encouragement each and every day. We will cheer them on as they pursue what is in their heart.

What does open adoption look like to us?
We share a common belief in cultivating a culture of openness and honesty in our life together. Our home is a safe place to always tell the truth, even when it’s hard to hear. We have chosen open adoption because we believe that any child raised in our home is given to us with a level of trust and we want to honor that trust by building a loving, open, relationship with you that suits your comfort level.
“Love people. Cook them good food.”
Family and friends
We have gathered around us a family of choice – both of blood and friendship – over the years.
John grew up with and is still very close with his three older sisters. John’s father, who is in his 80s, is looking forward to becoming a grandfather to our child and has experience in this area with three granddaughters. Julius has two siblings and six nieces and nephews. Our families are extremely supportive and are looking forward to our expanding family. We have several friends in the Atlanta area who have become family and who we know will be amazing aunts, uncles, and cousins to our child.

A child is a precious gift. Any child entrusted to our care will be treasured with the space, love, and support to become an individual with their own path. This trust is not something that we take for granted and we are grateful that you are willing to consider us as parents for your child. We hope that our words provide you with insight into the love we share for each other and how we would extend our love to your child.
Sincerely, John and Julius Jessup Peterson
